Provincial Councils Boundary Framework Report has been defeated in Sri Lanka Parliament

Tamil National Alliance member Mavai Senathirajah said that the minority people will face the new electoral system as a result of the impact of the uplifting of the Hill Country population.

Meanwhile, Minister Mano Ganesan said in the debate that no new solution to the issue of a new electoral system can be put in crisis.

Commenting on the new electoral system, Minister Rauff Hakeem said that the new electoral system would have a major impact on the minorities and will significantly reduce the representation of the Muslim population.

Rawaf Hakeem pointed out that the representation of Muslims in Kandy is now a fifth of the electoral system.

Meanwhile, the new Minister of Labor, Velusamy Radhakrishnan, said the new electoral system would further strengthen the provincial council.
