The names of 7 people have been nominated by Dinesh Gunawardena, Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Kammanpila, Mahinda Samarasinghe, SB Dissanayake, Nimal Siripala de Silva and Tilanka Sumathiapala on behalf of the United People's Freedom Alliance.

On behalf of the UNP, Samba Ranawaka, Mano Ganesan, Rishad Bathiudeen, Rauf Hakim and Lakshman Krielah have nominated five names.
